Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

ASHFORD AREA

 

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS) (BOROUGH OF ASHFORD)
(VARIOUS TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT No.2) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3, 4, 19, 65(1), 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) as amended and of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the Order would be to prohibit all vehicles from entry except cycles and emergency vehicles on the following length of road in Great Chart, Chilmington, Ashford:-

CHILMINGTON GREEN ROAD – From a point 130 metres south east of the junction with Ashford Road for a distance of 3 metres no entry for any vehicles travelling in both directions.

The Order was made on 30 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 31 October 2025.

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, ASHFORD)
(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT No.3) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby make an Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to reduce the existing speed limits on the following length of roads in Great Chart, Chilmington, Ashford:-

ASHFORD ROAD – Change the existing 50mph speed limit to 40mph from a point 25 metres north of its junction with Old Surrenden Manor Road to a point 60 metres south of its junction with Chilmington Green Road. CHILMINGTON GREEN ROAD – Change from National speed limit to 40mph from its junction with Ashford Road to its junction with Tally Ho Road. SANDY LANE –  Change the existing 50mph speed limit to 40mph from its junction with Ashford Road for a distance of 30 metres in a north westerly direction. UNAMED ROAD Place a 20mph from its junction with Ashford Road to its junction with Chilmington Green Road.

This order was originally advertised as Amendment 22 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been re-numbered as above.

The Order was made on 30 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 31 October 2025.

CANTERBURY AREA

(AMENDMENT No.4) ORDER 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1(1), (2), 2(1) to (3) and 4(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) as amended and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order

The effect of the named Order will Prohibit access from Osborne Gardens into Terminus Drive with no right or left turns except emergency access on the following length of roads.

Roads in Herne Bay in the District of Canterbury

OSBORNE GARDENS – (1) Prohibit Motor Vehicles at its junction with Terminus Drive. (2) No right of left hand turns into Terminus Drive. TERMINUS DRIVE – Prohibit Motor Vehicles at its junction with Osborne Gardens.

The Order was made on 30 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 31 October 2025.

(AMENDMENT No.5) ORDER 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1(1), (2), 2(1) to (3) and 4(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) as amended and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order

The effect of the named Order will be to change the weight limit from 18t  to 7.5t on the following length of road.

Roads in Upstreet in the District of Canterbury

GROVE FERRY HILL & GROVE FERRY ROAD – Prohibit vehicles of more than 7.5t from crossing the bridge in both directions.

The Order was made on 30 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 31 October 2025.

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2023 (AMENDMENT No.9) ORDER 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL under sections 1(1), 2 (1) to (3), 3 (2), 4 (1) and (2), 32 (1), 35 (1), 44, 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the named Order will amend the existing waiting restrictions on the following length of road (in this part of the notice DYL’s means double yellow lines) waiting to be prohibited at any time;

Roads in Herne Bay in the District of Canterbury

OSBORNE GARDENS – (1) On the north west side from the north eastern boundary of 43 Terminus Drive for a distance of 52 metres in a south westerly direction. (2) On the south east side to a point 22 metres north east and to a point 17 metres south west from its junction with unnamed road. TERMINUS DRIVE – On the south west side from a point 12 metres north west of its junction with Osborne Gardens to the same point on the west side the new turning head. UNNAMED ROAD – On both sides of its junction with Osborne Gardens for a distance of 11.5 metres in a south easterly direction.

The Order was made on 30 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 31 October 2025.

DOVER AREA

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, DOVER) (SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT No.3) ORDER 2025

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order.

The effect of the order would be to extend the current speed limit of 30MPH on the following length of roads in Walmer, Dover:- 

COLDBLOW - From its junction with Ellens Road and Station Road for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction. CROSS ROAD – From its junction with Ellens Road and Station Road for a distance of 260 metres in a northerly direction. ELLENS ROAD – From its junction with Station Road and Cross Road for 20 metres in a westerly direction.

This order was originally advertised as Amendment 9 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been renumbered as above.

The Order was made on 30 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 31 October 2025.

(AMENDMENT No.4) ORDER 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the Local Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 44, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (‘the Act’) the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the named Order will be to reduce the current Permit holders only parking bay on the following length of road in Folkestone, Folkestone and Hythe:-

THE TRAM ROAD – On its south east side from a point opposite the southern boundary of Southview reduce the parking bay by 4.3 metres in a south westerly direction.

The Order was made on 30 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 31 October 2025.

(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER
(AMENDMENT No.1) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby make the above-named Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to: -

To extend the current 20MPH zone on the following lengths of roads in Riverhead and Chevening, Sevenoaks:-

BARNFIELD ROAD, BULLFINCH LANE, CHESTERFIELD DRIVE, ELMSTEAD CLOSE, STANHOPE WAY & WITCHES LANE - For their entire length. CHEVENING ROAD – Extend the existing limit from the property boundary of 52/54 Chevening Road for a distance of 416 metres in a north westerly direction to the existing 40mph limit. CHIPSTEAD LANE – From its junction with Witches Lane to its junction with The Square.

This order was originally advertised as Amendment 4 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been re-numbered as above.

The Order was made on 30 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 31 October 2025.
