Essex, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

(Oakwood Drive (Purford Green) Harlow) (20mph Zone) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Orders under sections 84(1)(a) and 2, and Parts III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order:

To implement: a ‘20mph Zone’ on the following length of roads, in the District of Harlow,

Road | Description

Oakwood Drive | From a point approximately 9 metres south of its junction with Little Brays (Approximately 80 metres west of the Purford Primary School entrance), for the rest of its remaining length, (approximately 190 metres), including private drives and turning heads.

(Broomstick Hall Road, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Broomstick Hall Road, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 25m south west of its junction with Galleyhill Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south western direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th November 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC300913822661 – UK Power Networks).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Ninefields, Parklands, Crooked Mile Roundabout, Crooked Mile, Sewardstone Road, Farm Hill Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Cross Roads, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cross Roads, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Robin Hood Roundabout to its junction with Paul’s Nursery Road a distance of approximately 400m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th November 2025 for 1 night (21:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20123892192 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cattle grate cleaning works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Paul’s Nursery Road, Wake Road, Woodridden Hill, Wake Arms Roundabout, Epping New Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 9th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Forest Side, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Forest Side, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Honey Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th November 2025 for 2 nights (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20123892161 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cattle grate cleaning works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Woodridden Hill, Woodgreen Road, Wake Road, Coppyatt Hill and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 9th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rangers Road, Buckhurst Hill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rangers Road, Buckhurst Hill in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Epping New Road for a distance of approximately 710m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th November 2025 for 1 night (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20123892171 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cattle grid cleaning works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via A104, A121, A112, A110, A1069 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 9th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Epping Forest & City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Temporary Introduction of a Clearway & Temporary Introduction of a 40MPH Speed Restriction) (No. 2) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the

above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Epping Forest and City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule

  2. To temporarily introduce a 40mph speed limit in those lengths of road in the District of Epping Forest & City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.

  3. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

    “The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

    “The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 9th October 2025 exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates by each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
