Brent, Amendment To Waiting & Loading Restrictions
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT
THE BRENT (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. ) ORDER 202
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985, the Parking Acts of 1986 and 1989 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
The general effect of the ‘Waiting and Loading Restriction’ Order would be further to amend the Brent (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1979, so that:–
(a) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited at any time in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice;
(b) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited in the times and in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice;
(c) waiting by vehicles (for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) would be prohibited in the times and in the lengths of street specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice;
(d) waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for a period of more than 40 minutes in the same place would be prohibited at the times and in the lengths of streets specified in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Notice;
(e) the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle would be prohibited (except on Sundays) in the lengths of streets specified in Schedules 1 to 3 inclusive to this Notice, unless there is in force a valid licence issued by the Brent Borough Council or the goods are immediately taken into or delivered at premises adjacent to the vehicle from which the sale is effected;
(f) the use of any vehicle or of any animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume, wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising would be prohibited in the lengths of streets specified in Schedules 1 to 3 inclusive to this Notice;
(g) any existing prohibition on the waiting by vehicles, the sale or offer for sale of goods from a vehicle or the use of any vehicle or animal or the wearing of fancy dress or other costume wholly or mainly for the purpose of advertising in the lengths of streets specified in Schedules 1 to 3 inclusive to this Notice would be revoked.
The prohibitions referred to in sub-paragraphs 2(a) to (d) inclusive above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g., the picking up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemption relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Blue Badge” would apply.
A copy of the proposed Order, of the Order of 1979 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order), of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of maps which indicate each length of road to which the Order relates can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made or the Council determines not to proceed with the Order at: Brent Customer Services, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ.

Acacia Avenue
(a) the north-west side, between St John’s Road and 6 metres south-west of St John’s Road;
(b) the south-east side, between St Johns Road and 7 metres south-west of St John’s Road.
Boycroft Avenue, the west side, between Nos. 29 and 31 Boycroft Avenue and Nos. 35 and 37 Boycroft Avenue.
Clarendon Gardens
(a) the north-east side, between 10 metres south-east of Pembroke Road and 4.5 metres north-west of the north-western boundary of No. 90 Clarendon Gardens;
(b) the south-west side, between a point opposite the south-western boundary of No. 117 Clarendon Gardens and a point 10.00 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of Pembroke Road;
Kenton Road, the south-west side, between 10 metres north-west of Salehurst Close and 10 metres south-east of Salehurst Close.

(b) between 10 metres north-west of Meadow Way and the south-western boundary of No. 117 Clarendon Gardens.
Waiting restrictions (7.00 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays)
Lindsay Drive, between 10 metres north-east of Regal Way and the carriageway immediately surrounding the roundabout island site situated at the junctions of Falcon Way and Imperial Way.
