Various Roads Preston City - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
SYKE HOUSE LANE, GREENFIELD LANE, CHURCH LANE, BULLSNAPE LANE, INGLEWHITE, PRESTON CITY
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway;
i. Syke House lane from its junction with Inglewhite Road to its junction with Church Lane.
ii. Greenfield Lane from its junction with Back Lane to its junction with Church Lane.
iii. Church Lane from its junction with Syke House Lane for approximately 40 metres in a northerly direction.
iv. Bullsnape Lane from its junction with Syke House Lane for approximately 20 metres in a southerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours until 1530 hours on Thursday 6th November 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Greenfield Lane – Stoney Lane – Horns Lane – Inglewhite Road – Button Street – Church Lane and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow pole testing works to be carried out.
