What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF MARTON ROAD, BRIDLINGTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Marton Road, Bridlington encompassing
property numbers 110 through to 116 commencing
18 November 2025 between 19.00 hours until
23.00 hours for the purposes of replacing a cover
and frame for a manhole works. The road closure is
necessary to enable the works to be carried out in
a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the
public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be completed within
four hours. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the road closure will be via B1255 Marton Road, B1423
Scarborough Road South, B1423 St John Street, B1423
Quay Road, Prospect Street, Chapel Street, B1254
Promenade, B1254 Flamborough Road, B1254
Fortyfoot, B1254 Sewerby Heads, B1254 Cross Street,
B1254 Queen Street, B1254 Bridge Street, B1254
Hilderthorpe Road and B1423 Springfield Avenue,
Bridlington CP, Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward,
Bridlington South Ward, Bridlington North Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
