PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SOMERSET COUNCIL

Footpath SM 13/9 in the parish of Lamyatt
Public Path Extinguishment Order, 2025
On 10 October 2025 Somerset Council confirmed the
above order made under section 118 of the Highways Act
1980.The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish
the whole length of public footpath SM 13/9, starting from
OS grid ref ST 65172 35888 (point A on the order plan)
and running in an easterly direction for approximately 248
metres to OS grid ref ST 65412 35861 35888 (point B on
the order plan) as shown on the order map H21-2025. 
A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have
been placed and may be seen free of charge by appointment (Tel: 01823 355 644) at Somerset Council, County
Hall, The Crescent, Taunton, TA1 4DY from 9.00am until
3.00pm Monday to Friday. Copies can also be obtained
there free of charge or by contacting rightsofway@somerset.gov.uk. The order comes into force on 10 October
2025 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on
the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways
Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made
under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the
order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to
the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act,
within 6 weeks of 23 of October 2025, make an application
to the High Court.
