Somerset Council Parish of High Ham Temporary Closure of Beer Drove
What is happening?
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under
Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic
from proceeding along Beer Drove - from the junction
with Turnhill Road, eastwards for a total distance of
393 metres. This Order will enable J.D Pope and Sons
Ltd to replace culvert to prevent flooding on behalf of
Parrett Drainage Board.
The Order becomes effective on 23rd October 2025 and
will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected
to commence on 27th October 2025 and last until
14th November 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59
for a total of 19 days.

Statement of Reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be
executed on or near the road; or b) because of the
likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage
to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
