C5056, Staveley - Temporary Road Closure due to Utility Works

(C5056 STAVELEY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C5056 Staveley, from its junction with the U5269, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 3.1km.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the C5108 Main Street, Kendal Road, A591, C5057 Hollins Lane and the unrestricted section of the C5056.

The contractor will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of when the road is to be closed and when, during the course of the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 3rd November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 18 months and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
