What is happening?
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM
(A691 FRAMWELLGATE PETH & THE GARDENS, MILLBURNGATE) (PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURNS & NO ENTRY) ORDER 2024
The Council on 10/10/2025 made an Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 “the Act”), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 23/10/2025 which will bring into force the following restrictions prohibition of all vehicles (including pedal cycles) from proceeding in the following manner Prohibition of Right Turn:- from making a right-hand turn from the north bound carriageway of the A691 Framwellgate Peth into The Gardens, Millburngate and from The Gardens Millburngate onto the northbound A691 Framwellgate Peth. No Entry:- entering The Gardens, Millburngate via the left hand exit road from the A691 Framwellgate Peth. A copy of the Order and supporting documents can be seen via the Council website, and at Durham Clayport Library during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by “the Act”, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 10/10/2025.
