Rock Terrace, Temporary Road Closure Due To Construction Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Rock Terrace (rear), New Brancepeth) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road. A 160 length of Rock Terrace (rear of Numbers 1-32), New Brancepeth to enable retaining wall construction works to be undertaken.
An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic via other roads parallel to the closed road, to the north and south of the closure.
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on Monday 3/11/2025 and are anticipated to be completed in 8 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
