Portland Street, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Utility Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U2611 PORTLAND STREET, WORKINGTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U2611, Portland Street, Workington, from its junction with Curwen Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx 40m. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Vehicles wishing to access the unrestricted section of Portland Street should proceed via Curwen Street, A66 Ramsay Brow, and Christian Street.

The Order will come into operation on 3 November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
