The London Borough of Bexley, being the Traffic Authority for the above-mentioned road, in exercise of powers conferred by section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that, to enable highway improvement works by a council contractor on behalf of London Borough of Bexley they intend to make an Order the effects of which will be the introduction of:
• Prohibition of traffic (Road Closure) in Harcourt Road for the entire length up to the junction with Broadway, Bexleyheath
• No waiting no loading (Parking Restrictions) in Harcourt Road for the entire length up to the junction with Broadway, Bexleyheath
• Prohibition of traffic (Road Closure) in Porthkerry Avenue from the junction with Hook Lane to the junction with Merlin Road, Welling
• No waiting no loading (Parking Restrictions) in Porthkerry Avenue from the junction with Hook Lane to the junction with Merlin Road, Welling

The Order will come into effect on 29 October 2025 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 4 days.

Whilst the works are in progress alternative routes will be via,
• Porthkerry Avenue diversions
Merlin Road North, Hook Lane and reverse
Dansington Road, Selwyn Crescent, Danson Crescent, Hook Lane and reverse
• Access to Harcourt Road at all Times

Nothing in this Notice will apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or traffic warden, to emergency service vehicles, or to vehicles being used in connection with the works.

The restrictions described above will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs as prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

• Prohibition of traffic on the side of the dual carriageway closest to Crayford Creek Road – closed from the roundabout with Crayford Way to the roundabout with Kennet Road under Phase 1

The Order will come into effect on 20 October 2025 and is valid for a period of 18 months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 4 weeks.

Whilst the works are in progress, no alternative route will be provided; however, access will always be maintained for vehicles and emergency services.
