Wiltshire, Multiple Temporary Road Closures & Speed Limit Implementation
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) C291 (Part), Orcheston;
from its junction with UC 054401 for a distance of approximately 100m in a westerly direction to enable Environmental Drain Services Ltd to carry out new sewer connection and associated works.
Alternative route via C291 (unaffected length) – A360 – UC 054401 and vice versa.
This Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 21 November 2025.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
B) Goggs Lane, Redlynch;
from its junction with Timberley Lane to its junction with Church Hill to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out core sampling and associated works.
Alternative route via Church Hill – School Lane – Vicarage Road – Timberley Lane and vice versa.
This Order will come into operation on 20 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 22 October 2025.

C) Upper Street (Part), Salisbury;
from its junction with A3094 for a distance of approximately 20m in a northerly direction to enable SGN to carry out gas main and associated works.
Alternative route via Upper Street (unaffected length) – Middle Street – Laverstock – A3094 and vice versa.
This Order will come into operation on 20 October 2025 and the closure will be required until 07 November 2025.

Orders A) to C) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (STOCKPORT ROAD, AMESBURY) (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that on 15 October 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to introduce a 40mph speed limit on Stockport Road, Amesbury – from a point 83 metres east of the Stockport Avenue and Penny Lane roundabout for a distance of 380 metres in a northerly direction.

Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
The Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025.
