What is happening?

NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL

FOREST ROAD, CUMBERNAULD (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE)

ORDER 2025

On 13 October 2025 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act

1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on sewer connection for new development) the undernoted roads by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Phase 1 – Northbound

Blackthorn Roundabout to Lime Crescent

Alternative routes: Vehicles will be diverted via Blackthorn Road, Whitelees Roundabout and Forest Road.

Phase 2 – Southbound

Lime Crescent to Blackthorn Roundabout

Alternative routes: Vehicles will be diverted via Blackthorn Road, Whitelees Roundabout and Forest Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure. Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure. Please note that these works will be carried out in 2 phases and only one section of road will be closed at any one time.

The Order, which will only be in place when displayed by signs, will come into operation at 0600 hours on Monday, 27 October 2025 and will remain in operation until 2000 hours on Sunday, 16 November 2025.
