What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
PART OF SAND LANE, NORTH CLIFFE

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of
Sand Lane, North Cliffe from the access road to Bunny
Hill Farm westbound for approximately 130 metres
commencing 11 November 2025 until
19 November 2025. The reason for the closure is
to enable the proposed Sand Lane, North Cliffe bell
mouth construction for the EGL2 power scheme
works, to be carried out and completed in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within
nine days. The alternative route for traffic affected
by the Order is via Sand Lane, Cliffe Lane, Market
Weighton Road, Gallymoor Roundabout, Shipton Lane,
Holme Road, Shiptonthorpe Roundabout, York Road,
A1079 Giant Bradley Way, Holme Road Roundabout,
Oak Road, Cliffe Road and Hill Top Farm Access Road,
South Cliffe CP, Sancton CP, Market Weighton CP,
Holme Upon Spalding Moor CP, Shiptonthorpe CP,
Howdenshire Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians.
The Order will commence 11 November 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
