Various Roads, Blackheath - Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions for Fireworks Event

What is happening?

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lewisham Council intend to make the above named temporary Traffic Order under the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate the holding of the 2025 Blackheath Firework Display adjacent to the highway.

The effects of the Order shall be as indicated below.

1. (1) 1st November 2025 – Road closure and no parking/waiting in:

(a) Blackheath Village, between Montpelier Vale and Lee Road;

(b) Duke Humphrey Road;

(c) Goffers Road;

(d) Hare and Billet Road;

(e) Lee Road, between Blackheath Village & Lee Terrace;

(f) Montpelier Row, between South Row and Montpelier Vale;

(g) Montpelier Vale between Montpelier Row and Blackheath Village;

(h) Prince Charles Road, between Shooters Hill Road and Montpelier Row;

(i) Royal Parade;

(j) Talbot Place;

(k) Tranquil Vale.

(2) The diversion routes for traffic affected by the prohibitions shall be via Lee Terrace, Belmont Hill, Lewisham High Street, Lewisham Road, Blackheath Hill, and Shooters Hill, and vice versa.

(Note: Parking prohibitions are expected to be implemented from 10am while road closures from 3:30pm.)

2. 1st November 2025 – No parking and waiting in:

(i) Lee Road between Lee Park and Priory Park;

(ii) Lee Terrace between Lee Road and junction Road;

(iii) South Row.

(Note: Parking prohibitions are expected to be implemented from 10am)

3. No parking and waiting in All Saints Drive

(Note: this prohibition is expected to be implemented from 28th October to 5th November 2025 to allow for the set up and removal of the event.)

4. Exemption shall be provided in the Order for vehicles engaged on the event, vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform.

5. The Order is intended to come into force on 28th October 2025 to remain in force for up to 9 days or until the event removal works are complete, whichever is the sooner.

6. The prohibitions shall apply as, when and to the extent signed on the highway.
