What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS LOCATIONS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2025 (M25-123) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Kirkby in Ashfield and Mansfield in the Districts of Ashfield and Mansfield The effects of the Order will be: 1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road a. Waverley Road, Mansfield - From its junction with Nottingham Road to its junction with Garth Road b. Darwin Close, Mansfield - For its entire length c. Abbeydale Drive, Mansfield - From its junction with Lichfield Lane for a distance of 140 metres in a south westerly direction d. Rectory Road, Church Warsop - For its entire length e. Boswll Close, Mansfield - For its entire length f. Gleneagles Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield - From a point 140 metres from its junction with Wentworth Road for a distance of 40 metres in a south easterly direction 2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading in the following length of road at Mansfield in the District of Mansfield :- a. Waverley Road, Mansfield - From its junction with Nottingham Road to its junction with Garth Road b. Darwin Close, Mansfield - For its entire length c. Abbeydale Drive, Mansfield - From its junction with Lichfield Lane for a distance of 140 metres in a south westerly direction d. Rectory Road, Church Warsop - For its entire length e. Boswll Close, Mansfield - For its entire length f. Gleneagles Drive, Kirkby in Ashfield - From a point 140 metres from its junction with Wentworth Road for a distance of 40 metres in a south easterly direction 3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required. 4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place. IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 07:00, Wednesday 22nd October 2025 Until 18:00, Friday 31st October 2025 inclusive. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: Waverley Road, Mansfield - Garth Road - High Oakham Road and vice versa All other Roads - not applicable The Order will come into force on Wednesday 22nd October 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months). The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out mastic carriageway patching works ; Corporate Director - Place Nottinghamshire County Council, County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham
