Brighton – Temporary Road Closure due to Scheme Works
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – LONDON ROAD/PRESTON ROAD
NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-
The closure of London Road/Preston Road (A23) from its junctions with Rookery Close to its junction with Tongdean Lane including the adjacent roads. Including the temporary suspension of bus lane and The temporary closure of the cycle lane. Works to be carried out in phases as and when required.
The Order is necessary to allow contractors to safely work whilst carrying out scheme works.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.
This Order comes into force on 20 October for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed.
