What is happening?

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily introduce a closure to the section of Public Footpath BCRIV/1 commencing from the Stanier Road bridge at ST74386476 and proceeding in a generally S direction for approx 81m to Midland Bridge at ST74396468.
This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the right of way: namely the applicant will be carrying out landscaping improvements as part of the Bath Riverline Project. The Order will come into force on 24th November 2025 and will be effective for three weeks. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FOR WALKERS: Public Footpath BCRIV/1 – Public Footpath BC44/5 – Norfolk Buildings – James Street West – Green Park Road – Midland Bridge Road – Green Park Mews. Vice Versa.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FOR CYCLISTS: Public Footpath BCRIV/1 - Nelson Villas – Nelson Place West – Great Stanhope Street – Stanhope Place – James Street West – Green Park Road – Midland Bridge Road – Green Park Mews. Vice Versa.
