ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(DOVE TREE ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends

not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Dove Tree Road, Leighton Buzzard.

This temporary closure is required to enable new electrical connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 10 to 14 November 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE AND AMEND

WATING RESTRICTIONS ON AND AROUND SOUTHCOURT ROAD AND

SOUTHCOURT AVENUE, LINSLADE

Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and For facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians). More specifically, the waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that junctions are not obstructed by parked vehicles.

Effect of the Order:

To replace No Waiting from Monday to Friday between 2pm and 3pm with No Waiting at Any Time on the following lengths of road in Linslade:-

1. Southcourt Avenue, eastern spur, north side, from the junction markings with Southcourt Road and Southcourt Avenue and extending in a south easterly direction for approximately 15.5 metres, ending at a point approximately in line with the shared property boundary between No.28 and No. 26 Southcourt Avenue.

2. Southcourt Road, east side, from the junction markings with Southcourt Avenue, eastern spur and extending in a slightly north easterly direction for approximately 30 metres.

3. Southcourt Avenue, southeast side, from the junction markings with Southcourt Avenue, eastern spur and extending in a south westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

To replace No Waiting from Monday to Friday between 10am and 11am with No Waiting at Any Time on the following lengths of road in Linslade:-

1.  Southcourt Avenue, eastern spur, south side, from the junction markings with Southcourt Road and Southcourt Avenue and extending in a south easterly direction for approximately 15.5 metres, ending at a point approximately in line with the shared property boundary between No.28 and No. 26 Southcourt Avenue.

Please note that the above proposed restrictions at this junction supersede those proposed on the previous notice on TRO-044
