MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC145682056: The City of Manchester (Whitchurch Road, Old Moat Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Whitchurch Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Burton Road, Old Moat Lane, Yew Tree Road, Mauldeth Road West, Princess Road, Whitchurch Road vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 20th October 2025 to the 5th November 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 20th October 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
