Tunbridge Wells, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA

 

Barden Road, Speldhurst, TN3 0LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barden Road, Speldhurst, on or after 16th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2176 Penshurst Road to the junction with Furzefield Avenue, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barden Road, B2176 Penshurst Road, Poundsbridge Lane, Poundsbridge, Penshurst Road, Speldhurst Hill, Barden Road and vice versa.

 

Broomhill Road, Southborough (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Broomhill Road, Southborough, on or after 28th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Speldhurst Road and Oak Lodge. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Speldhurst Road, Etherington Hill, Lower Green Road, Broomhill Road and vice versa.

 

Chapel Lane, Sissinghurst, TN17 3NU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water main renewal works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chapel Lane, Sissinghurst, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 131 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in 2 phases from the junction with A262 The Street to the junction with Golford Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

•  Phase 1 from 10th November 2025 to 19th December 2025.

•  Phase 2 from 5th January 2026 to 20th March 2026.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chapel Lane, Golford Road, Bakers Cross, The Hill, St Davids Bridge, Waterloo Road, A229 Wilsley Green, A229 Wilsley Pound Roundabout, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 The Street and vice versa.

 

Franks Hollow Road, Bidborough (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Franks Hollow Road, Bidborough, on or after 29th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Spring Lane to in the vicinity of property named The Cottage, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Franks Hollow Road, Stockland Green Road, Etherington Hill, Speldhurst Hill, Barden Road, B2176 Penshurst Road, B2176 Bidborough Ridge, High Street, Franks Hollow Road and vice versa.

 

Half Moon Lane, Capel (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Half Moon Lane, Capel, on or after 30th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Halfmoon House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Half Moon Lane, Alders Road, A228 Colts Hill, A228 Maidstone Road, A228 Pembury Northern Bypass, Old Church Road, Pembury Hall Road, Half Moon Lane and vice versa.

 

Halls Hole Road, A264 Pembury Road & Sandrock Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, NO RIGHT TURN & NO LEFT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow the Dunorlan Fireworks Event to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Halls Hole Road, A264 Pembury Road & Sandrock Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells, on or after 1st November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the event has been completed.

Halls Hole Road will be closed from the junction of Bayhall Road to the junction of Cornford Lane, between the hours of 17:00 and 21:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A264 Pembury Road will be closed from the junction of Sandhurst Road to the junction of Sandrock Road from 19:30, for up to 30 minutes, to allow crowds to disperse.

A264 Pembury Road will have a No right-turn & No left-turn restrictions imposed onto Sandrock Road.

There will be a No right-turn imposed on Sandrock Road onto A264 Pembury Road.

The alternative route for any Halls Hole Road through traffic is via Halls Hole Road, A264 Pembury Road, Bayhall Road, Halls Hole Road and vice versa.

The alternative route for any A264 Pembury Road through traffic is via Sandrock Road, Lansdowne Road, Garden Road, Camden Road, Quarry Road, Grosvenor Bridge, Upper Grosvenor Road, Sandhurst Road and vice versa.

 

Hayesden Lane, Bidborough (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing and tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hayesden Lane, Bidborough, on or after 16th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from B2176 Penshurst Road to Judd Wood Farm between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hayesden Lane, B2176 Penshurst Road, B2176 Bidborough Ridge, A26 London Road, A26 Quarry Hill Road, Brook Street, Upper Hayesden Lane, Haysden Lane and vice versa.

 

Jarvis Lane, Curtisden Green, TN17 1LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Jarvis Lane, Curtisden Green, on or after 30th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Little Orchard. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Curtisden Green Road, Horden Road, Jarvis Lane and vice versa.

 

Lucks Lane, Paddock Wood, TN12 6PD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lucks Lane, Paddock Wood, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Saltbox Cottage, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lucks Lane, B2160 Maidstone Road, Wagon Lane, Queen Street, Lucks Lane and vice versa.

 

Rusthall High Street, Rusthall Road & Longmeads, Rusthall (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Rusthall High Street, Rusthall Road & Longmeads, Rusthall, on or after 31st October 2025 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

Rusthall High Street will be closed from the junction with Nellington Road to the junction with Rusthall Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Rusthall Road will be closed from the junction with Rusthall High Street to the junction with Coach Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Nellington Road, Farnham Lane, Dornden Drive, A264 Langton Road, Coach Road and vice versa.

Longmeads will be closed from the junction with Nellington Road to property number 4, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Longmeads, Dornden Drive, A264 Langton Road, Coach Road and vice versa.

 

Staplehurst Road, Sinkhurst Green, TN17 2EB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow meter cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Staplehurst Road, Sinkhurst Green, on or after 28th October 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property 1 and 2 The Twins. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Staplehurst Road, Frittenden Road, A229 Cranbrook Road, A229 Knoxbridge, A229 Rocks Hill, A229 Camden Hill, A229 The Common, Common Road, Frittenden Road, Cranbrook Road, The Street, Headcorn Road, Staplehurst Road and vice versa.

 

Theodore Close, Royal Tunbridge Wells, TN2 3HD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Theodore Close, Royal Tunbridge Wells, on or after 12th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property numbers 20 to 23. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
