TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (SOUTHWELL FOOTPATHS 12,14 AND 15)(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025

What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

No person shall:-

(a) proceed on foot

in the following lengths of Footpath at Southwell in the District of Newark and Sherwood:-

Southwell Footpaths No.12, 14 and 15.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-

Southwell Footpath No.12

From Monday 20th October 2025 until Friday 19th December 2025 inclusive. ( Except from between the hours of 08.30- 9.00hrs AND 15.00-15.30hrs weekdays during term time where the path will be open for school access)

Southwell Footpath No.14

From Monday 20th October until Friday 19th December 2025 inclusive (For most of the works when signs indicating the closure are displayed)

Southwell Footpath No.15

From Monday 20th October until Friday 19th December 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction a suggested alternative route will be available as shown on plan.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out or in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. . It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable Prelimenary Works to be carried out for the Southwell Flood Alleviation Scheme and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 17TH DAY OF OCTOBER 2025
