What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL

PRINCES WAY TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC  ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Blackpool Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to close a section of Princes Way to allow for the construction of an access point for a new compound. The effect of the Order will be to:

a) Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Princes Way between its junction with Queens Promenade to a point on Princes Way which is approximately 200m northwest of the junction with Queens Promenade.

Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained at all times. All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.

The proposed Order will commence on 10 November 2025 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will be carried out in two phases with Phase 1 taking place on 10 November 2025 for a period of one day and with Phase 2 taking place on 12 January 2026 for a period of 4 weeks.
