What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
THANET AREA
A254 Queens Avenue, Margate, CT9 1LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A254 Queens Avenue, Margate, on or after 11th November 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of the railway bridge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 St Peters Road, B2052 College Road, College Road and Tivoli Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
A255 Hereson Road, Ramsgate, CT11 8PU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A255 Hereson Road, Ramsgate, on or after 31st October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 8 to outside number 27, between the hours of 10:00 and 14:00 only to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 Hereson Road, A255 Ramsgate Road, A255 Queens Road, A255 High Street, A255 The Broadway, A255 St Peters Road, A255 Broadstairs Road, A256 Westwood Road, A254 Margate Road, A255 Boundary Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
B2052 George V Avenue, Margate, CT9 5RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow road marking works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2052 George V Avenue, Margate, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Westfield Road and Hartsdown Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 George V Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road, Hartsdown Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Addington Place, Ramsgate, CT11 9JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Addington Place, Ramsgate, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the rear of number 17 Nelson Crescent, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cottington Road, Minster, CT12 5JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cottington Road, Minster, on or after 30th October 2025 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cottington Road, Foads Lane, Cliffs End Road, Sandwich Road, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Cliffs End Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Mount Pleasant, Tothill Street, Foxborough Lane, The Lanes, Grinsell Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Foads Lane, Cliffsend, CT12 5LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Foads Lane, Cliffsend, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 49, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Foads Lane, Cliffs End Road, Sandwich Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Grange Road, Ramsgate, CT11 7QT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grange Road, Ramsgate, on or after 29th October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Ellington Place, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 High Street, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 Nethercourt Circus, B2054 London Road, Grange Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Grosvenor Place, Margate, CT9 1LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grosvenor Place, Margate, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside flat 1 number 126, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The one-way Order will be suspended from the roundabout to the junction of Grosvenor Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 Grosvenor Gardens, B2055 Churchfields, B2055 Churchfield Place, B2055 Hawley Square, B2055 Cecil Street, Cecil Square, Queen Street, Marine Gardens, Grosvenor Place and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hertford Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hertford Street, Ramsgate, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the rear of number 11 Liverpool Lawn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Hertford Place, Addington Street, Albert Street and Hertford Street.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Albert Street, Liverpool Lawn, Prospect Terrace, Nelson Crescent, Addington Street and Hertford Place.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
King Street, Ramsgate, CT11 8QH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of King Street, Ramsgate, on or after 30th October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 25 to outside number 27 and outside number 32, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The one-way Order will be suspended between the junctions of Brunswick Street and Broad Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via King Street, Brunswick Street, Turner Street, Broad Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Manor Road, St Nicholas At Wade, CT7 0PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Manor Road, St Nicholas At Wade, on or after 28th October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of A28 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manor Road, The Length, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Thanet Road, Broadstairs, CT10 1JQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thanet Road, Broadstairs, on or after 12th November 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the rear of number 2 B2052 High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Thanet Road, B2052 Albion Street, B2052 High Street, Prospect Place and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Winstanley Crescent, Ramsgate, CT11 7AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Winstanley Crescent, Ramsgate, on or after 12th November 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 63, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Winstanley Crescent, A254 Margate Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
