What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
GRAVESHAM AREA
A226 Thames Way, Northfleet, DA11 9DU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of bridge examination works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A226 Thames Way, Northfleet, on or after 30th October 2025 for up to 1 night between 22.00hrs and 06.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge.
The alternative route is via A226 Thames Way, B2175 London Road, B2175 The Hill, B2175 High Street, B2175 Stonebridge Road and vice versa.
Jellicoe Avenue, Gravesend, DA12 5HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Jellicoe Avenue, Gravesend, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 41.
The alternative route is via Jellicoe Avenue, Kitchener Avenue, Sun Lane, Whitehill Road, Cornwell Avenue and vice versa.
Leywood Road, Meopham, DA13 0UH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Leywood Road, Meopham, on or after 11th November 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Plug Lane and Ham Farm.
The alternative route is via Leywood Road, Strawberry Hill, Dean Road, Oakenden Road, Foxendown Lane, The Street, A227 Wrotham Road/Gravesend Road, Harvel Road, The Paddock and vice versa.
Melliker Lane, Meopham, DA13 0JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Melliker Lane, Meopham, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Three Ways.
The alternative route is via Melliker Lane, A227 Wrotham Road, B260 Longfield Road and vice versa.
Princes Street, Gravesend, DA11 0BJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Princes Street, Gravesend, on or after 14th November 2025 for up to 1 night between 21.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside numbers 22-24.
The alternative route is via A226 West Street, A226 Crooked Lane, A226 Harmer Street, A226 Berkeley Crescent, A226 Milton Road, King Street, New Road.
Sandy Bank Road, Gravesend, DA12 1LP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandy Bank Road, Gravesend, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 2.
The alternative route is via Leith Park Road, Parrock Road, South Hill Road, Hillside Terrace, Sandy Bank Road and vice versa.
Wellington Street, Gravesend, DA12 9GR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of vegetation clearance from retaining walls and building, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wellington Street, Gravesend, on or after 16th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed. The One Way will be suspended to allow access.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge.
The alternative route is via Wellington Street, Saddington Street, Peacock Street, A226 Milton Road.
Wingfield Road, Gravesend, DA11 0QQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wingfield Road, Gravesend, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed. The One-Way will be suspended to allow access.
The road will be closed outside number 28.
The alternative route is via Windmill Street, Portland Road, A227 Wrotham Road, Wingfield Road and vice versa.
