MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC146080333: The City of Manchester (Sawley Road, Miles Platting & Newton Heath Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Sawley Road From Lifton Avenue to Kirkhaven Square .The alternative routes for traffic will be: Sawley Road, Rosewell Avenue, Varley Street and Vice Versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a Crane. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 27th October 2025 to 7th November 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. The order shall come into operation on 27th October 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham. MCC146083355: The City of Manchester (Bennett Street, Ardwick Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Bennett Street From Rostron Avenue to St Benedicts Avenue. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Hyde Road, Pottery Lane, Wenlock Way, Kniveton Road. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Remedial works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 25th October 2025 to 31st October 2025. The order shall come into operation on 25th October 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
