Dover, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

DOVER AREA

 

A258 Sandwich Road, Sholden (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A258 Sandwich Road, Sholden, on or after 12th November 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Cottington Lakes fishery to Betteshanger roundabout, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A258 Sandwich Road, A258 Deal Road, A256 Sandwich Road, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C237 Venson Road To Entry A256 Roundabout, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C227 Kennel Hill To C237 Venson Road, A256 Whitfield Bypass, A2 Dover Road Slip Eastbound On, A2 Between Junction With A256 And Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A258 Deal Road, A258 Dover Road, A258 The Strand, A258 Victoria Road, A258 Ranelagh Road, A258 Prince Of Wales Terrace, A258 Beach Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Queen Street and A258 London Road.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A258 London Road, A258 Queen Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Beach Street, A258 Prince Of Wales Terrace, A258 Deal Castle Road, A258 Victoria Road, A258 The Strand, A258 Dover Road, A258 Deal Road, A2 Between Junction With A256 And Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 Dover Road Slip Westbound Off, A256 Link between Whitfield Interchange Roundabouts, A256 Whitfield Bypass, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C227 Kennel Hill To C237 Venson Road, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C237 Venson Road To Entry A256 Roundabout, A256 Sandwich Road, A258 Deal Road and A258 Sandwich Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Boyes Lane, Goodnestone, CT3 1PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Boyes Lane, Goodnestone, on or after 28th October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Fitzwalters Meadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Boyes Lane, Saddlers Hill, Cave Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Canute Road, Deal, CT14 6RA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Canute Road, Deal, on or after 11th November 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 1 to outside number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canute Road, Sandown Road, Ethelbert Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Street St Mary, Sandwich, CT13 9EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Street St Mary, Sandwich, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Vicarage Lane and Strand Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vicarage Lane, Bowling Street, Strand Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Clanwilliam Road, Deal, CT14 7AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Clanwilliam Road, Deal, on or after 11th November 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 26, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Victoria Road, Stanley Road, A258 Prince Of Wales Terrace, Clanwilliam Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Devonshire Road, Dover, CT17 0BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Devonshire Road, Dover, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 33, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Forge Lane, Sutton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Forge Lane, Sutton, on or after 29th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Church Hill for approximately 100m in a Southerly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Forge Lane, Vale Road, Wingleton Lane, Winklands Oaks Lane, Waterworks Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hay Hill, Ham, CT14 0ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hay Hill, Ham, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 3 for approximately 120m in a Westerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hay Hill, Brook Street, Lower Street, Dover Road, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C237 Venson Road To Entry A256 Roundabout, A256 Eastry Bypass, Northbourne Road, Updown Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

King Street & Middle Street, Deal, CT14 6TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of King Street & Middle Street, Deal, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

King Street will be closed between the junctions of High Street and Beach Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beach Street, The Marina, Godwyn Road, King Edward Road, College Road, High Street, King Street and vice versa.

Middle Street will be closed between the junctions of King Street and Market Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, Market Street, High Street, King Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mill Lane, Preston, CT3 1DX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Preston, on or after 14th November 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Horse Shoe Bungalow to outside Holly Lodge, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Lane, The Street, Longmete Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mill Lane, Worth, CT14 0BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Worth, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Mulberry to the junction of A258 Deal Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Lane, Hay Lane, Updown Road, Northbourne Road, Broad Lane, Burgess Green, A258 Sandwich Road, A258 Deal Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Napchester Road, Whitfield, CT16 3JP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Napchester Road, Whitfield, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Napchester Road, Sandwich Road, The Drove and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sea Street, St Margarets At Cliffe, CT15 6AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sea Street, St Margarets At Cliffe, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Old Chapel, between the hours of 21:30 and 05:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Stourmouth Road, Preston, CT3 1HP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stourmouth Road, Preston, on or after 28th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Preston Lane, Preston Road, Preston Hill, A257 Gobery Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Pedding Hill, A257 Ash Bypass, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A256 Ramsgate Road, A256 Richborough Way, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Canterbury Road West, A253 Canterbury Road, Gore Street, Plucks Gutter, The Street, Preston Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Westcourt Downs, Shepherdswell (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow brickwork repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Westcourt Downs, Shepherdswell, on or after 2nd November 2025 for up to 20 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 02:00 and 22:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Westcourt Downs, Westcourt Lane, Woolage Green Road, Firs Road, C201 Ruberries Wood Road From District Boundary To Nightingale Lane, Barfreston Road, Barfreston Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Wingham Well Lane, Wingham Well, CT3 1NG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wingham Well Lane, Wingham Well, on or after 14th November 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Mill Road to outside The Cherries, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wingham Well Lane, A257 Canterbury Road, B2046 High Street, B2046 Adisham Road, Snakes Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
