What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
CANTERBURY AREA
Beverley Road, Canterbury, CT2 7RS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Beverley Road, Canterbury from 27th October 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd November 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 31, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Forty Acres Road, A290 Whitstable Road, St Dunstans Street, Roper Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Broadway, Petham, CT4 5RA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Broadway, Petham from 28th October 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite Crofts Wood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Town Road, B2068 Stone Street, Wadden Hall, Gogway, Duckpit Road, Church Lane, Kake Street, Anvil Green Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Field Avenue, Canterbury, CT1 1TS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow water main connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Field Avenue, Canterbury from 30th October 2025, with estimated completion by 20th January 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 92 and 191, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The diversion route for any through traffic is the alternative route around Field Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Grove Road, Wickhambreaux, CT3 1RX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Grove Road, Wickhambreaux from 27th October 2025, with estimated completion by 31st October 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 6, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grove Road, The Street, Preston Lane, Preston Road, Preston Hill, A257 High Street, Canterbury Road, Wingham Road, High Street, Nargate Street, Wickham Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Park View & Deansway Avenue, Sturry. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Park View & Deansway Avenue, Sturry from 14th November 2025 with estimated completion by 17th November 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed at the junctions where they meet heading approximately 50m in a south easterly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for Park View is via Park View, McCarthy Avenue, River View, Hillbrow Avenue, Popes Lane, Deansway Avenue and vice versa.
The alternative route for Deansway Avenue is via Deansway Avenue, Popes Lane, A291 Herne Bay Road, Deansway Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Patrixbourne Road, Patrixbourne & Bridge. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow structural investigation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Patrixbourne Road, Patrixbourne & Bridge from 21:00 hours on 14th November 2025, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 15th November 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of A2 overbridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, Town Hill, Bekesbourne Road, Biffrons Hill, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Road, Chartham, CT4 7HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow level crossing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Chartham from 23:30 hours on 10th November 2025, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 11th November 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of Chartham Station level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, A28 Ashford Road, Shalmsford Street, Bolts Hill, Parish Road, The Green, Station Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Petham, CT4 5QU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Petham from 27th October 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between The Old Bakery and Virginia Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broadway, Waltham Road, Kake Street, Richdore Road, Woods Hill, Ashenfield Road, Waltham Road, The Street, Evington Road, From Dean Bottom To District Boundary, Dean Bottom, Dean Hill, Thorn Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Town Road, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
