CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (BYKER HALLOWEEN MARKET) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
What is happening?
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 9 October 2025 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and has received consent from the Secretary of State for Transport to make such an Order.
2. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicles to proceed on Raby Street, from Whickham Gardens for 18 metres in a northerly direction.
3. The Order is required in connection with Byker Halloween Market ("the Event") and reduce the disruption to traffic likely to be caused by the Event. The Order is required to allow the Event to be carried out safely on or near the highway and to ensure the health and safety of the public.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles and personnel on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 30 October 2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 31 October 2025 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
