LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL HOLLINS LANE ACCRINGTON, HYNDBURN BOROUGH (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025)
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
- No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Hollins Lane, Accrington from Manchester Road for a distance of 740 metres in a northerly direction.
- Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
- The prohibition will be operative daily from 08:00 hours to 17:00 hours on Wednesday 15 October 2025 to Wednesday 29th October 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. The probation will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
- An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-Royds Street - Nuttall Street - Spring Gardens - Manchester Road and vice versa. The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out on behalf of Lancashire County Council Authority given for this Order to be made: Ricky Wilson Streetworks Team Leader Highways and Transport 0300 123 6780 [Ref: HRiT/61877/JW] Some schools are excluded as commitment is on an individual basis.
