THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (NEILSON ROAD, GATESHEAD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from Waiting, Loading or Stopping At Any Time, and proceeding along the roads as set out in the Schedule below. The order is required to facilitate public safety of attendees and the public during the staging of the Fireworks Display at Gateshead International Stadium. It is proposed that the Order will come into force on the 01 November 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months, however the prohibition period is expected to be completed by the 02 November 2025. During the prohibition period all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the event and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from Waiting, Loading or Stopping at Any Time and proceeding along the roads as set out in the Schedule below until the prohibition period is complete or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibitions there will be signed diversions in place.

Prohibition of Motor Vehicles
Neilson Road - from its junction with A184 Park Road to its junction with Stadium Road.
No Waiting, No Stopping, No Loading
Old Fold Road - either side, from its junction with A184 Park Road, to its junction with Marigold Avenue.
Sanderson Villas - either side, from its junction with Old Ford Road, extending in a westerly direction for a distance of 83 metres.
Marigold Avenue - either side, from its junction with Old Ford Road to its junction with Elliot Road.
