LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (BACK MOSS LANE, BURSCOUGH, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council
intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will
be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that
length of Back Moss Lane, Burscough to a point of 125 metres
north of its junction with A59 Moss Lane for a distance of 140
metres in a northerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the
carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours on Thursday
30th October until 1700 hours on Wednesday 5th November 2025
or until completion of the works within this period. Due to the
nature of the works access for emergency services will not be
maintained.
4. Vehicular access for residents will not be maintained.
5. There is not an alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by
the closure as the road is a no through road.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow excavation works
in footway and carriageway to be carried out to install and joint
cables for two new services.
