LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (B5312 GRIMSHAW ROAD, SKELMERSDALE, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice. 1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway: i. B5312 Grimshaw Road, Skelmersdale (Eastbound carriageway only) from a point 55 metres east of its junction with Southway for a distance of 700 metres in an easterly direction. ii. B5312 Grimshaw Road, Skelmersdale (Westbound carriageway only) from a point 55 metres east of its junction with Southway for a distance of 700 metres in an easterly direction. 2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works. 3. The prohibitions in article 1 will be operative on the below dates and times specified below: i. 1(i) will be operative from 0930 hours to 1500 hours on Wednesday 22nd October 2025. ii. 1(ii) will be operative from 0930 hours to 1500 hours on Thursday 23rd October 2025. Or until completion of works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. 4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained. 5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:Eastbound diversion C153 Grimshaw Road - Tanhouse Road - C153 Grimshaw RoadB5312 Grimshaw Road. Westbound diversion C153 Grimshaw Road - Tanhouse Road - Digmoor Road - Tanhouse Road- C153 Grimshaw Road - B5312 Grimshaw Road The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow inspection works of existing structure over Grimshaw Road to be carried out.
