THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BUCKINGHAM ROAD, HEATON CHAPEL AND VARIOUS ROADS PLANNED ROAD MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough
Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended
by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
the effect of which introduced a Temporary Prohibition
of Driving at Buckingham Road, Heaton Chapel, first 25
metres at junction of Wellington Road North. Diversion:
Chandos Road, Alstone Road, Wellington Road North and
Buckingham Road. Lumb Lane, Bramhall, first 25 metres
at junction of Bramhall Lane South. Diversion: Maple
Road, Meadway, Woodford Road, Bramhall Lane South,
whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near
the said roads. This Order is necessary to allow planned
road maintenance works to take place. It is estimated
these works will last up to 3 weeks. This Order came
into operation on 10 October 2025 and will have effect
for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works
are completed within a shorter period this Order shall
cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref:
