THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BLACKSHAW STREET, STOCKPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough
Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less
than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the
Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect
of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of
Driving at Blackshaw Street, Stockport, from Greek Street
to Nixon Street, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in
place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary
to enable highway improvement works at the junction
of Blackshaw Street/Greek Street to take place. It is
estimated these works will last 14 weeks. A diversion will
be provided via Thomson Street, Armoury Street, Greek
Street, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to any
vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire
brigade, ambulance or police purposes. This Notice does
not apply to pedestrians or pedal cycles. This Order is to
come into operation on the 3 November 2025 and will have
effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary
works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall
cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref:
