THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FOOTPATH 47, HAZEL GROVE AND BRAMHALL) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough
Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less
than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended
by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the
effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Closure
of Footpath 47, Hazel Grove and Bramhall between
the entrance on Bridge Street to the bridge/footpath
connecting to Harford Close, whilst traffic signs to that
effect are in place on or near the said footpath. This Order
is necessary due to a collapse of the footway causing the
route to become unsafe. It is estimated that the maximum
duration of the closure will be 6 months. No diversion will
be provided. This Order is to come into operation on 24
October 2025 and will have effect for six months, provided
that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter
period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of
that shorter period. Ref: JO/11746488 Dated: 15 October
2025. Victoria Alice Bates Assistant Director Governance,
Town Hall Stockport
