THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FOOTPATH 110, BREDBURY AND ROMILEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025

What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough
Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section
14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended
by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the
effect of which introduced a Temporary Closure of Footpath
110, Bredbury and Romiley (known as Field Street) for 20m
from its eastern end, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in
place on or near the said footpath. This Order is necessary
to allow for the completion of works to take place. It is
estimated that the maximum duration of the works will be
6 months. A diversion will be provided via either Thomas
Street or Wild Street and connecting footways. This Order
came into operation on the 10 October 2025 and will have
effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works
are completed within a shorter period this Order shall
cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref:
