What is happening?

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 Various Locations Within Macclesfield/Poynton
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.
Prohibition of traffic – Beech Lane, Macclesfield for the full extent Jordangate, Macclesfield for the full extent

Chester Road, Macclesfield for the full extent
Radcliffe Road, Sutton for the full extent
Park Lane, Poynton with Worth For the full extent

Please visit one. Network for specific diversions.
This order will come into operation on Friday 31st October 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 26th December 2025. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
Waterloo Road, Poynton with Worth
Notice Is Hereby Given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.
Prohibition of traffic – Waterloo Road, Poynton with Worth For the full extent.
The alternative route will be via Coppice Road, Park Lane, London Road South, Dickens Lane and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on Saturday 25th October 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Sunday 16th November 2025. NOTICE OF MAKING – (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Loading,
Stopping and Street Parking Places) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Amendment No.30) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that on 09 October 2025 Cheshire East Borough Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 38, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53 and 61, and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers and in accordance with its duty under Section 122 of the said Act.
1. The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 20 October 2025, will be to -
a) Amend the Cheshire East Borough Council (Prohibition and restriction of Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Street Parking Places) (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 by introducing No Waiting At Any Time as outlined in Schedule 1 below and replacing Map Tile No. BE151 Rev.0 with BE151 Rev.1 in the Consolidation Order schedules.
2. A copy of the Order; a map showing the restricted areas; a statement of reasons for making the Order, a copy of this public notice and a copy of the public notice of the proposal to make the order are available to view at: bit.ly/2RR0UkD. Or, if you do not have access to the internet, please contact 0300 123 5020 for further details or to request paper copies.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or any requirement of the Act or an instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS Public Footpath No. 66 (Part) Parish of Disley
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following: That length of Public Footpath No. 66 (part) in the Parish of Disley which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 9716 8584 and runs in a generally north west direction for approx. 109m. to OSGR SJ 9706 8589. The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger while planned works are taking place on the Canal. The works are expected to be completed by February 2026. The Order came into force on 6th October 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to be completed by February 2026. An alternative route is available via the Public Rights of Way network.
