ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)(a)
What is happening?
THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 14 TO JUNCTION 15) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the M6 Motorway, in the County of Staffordshire, to enable safety barrier replacement works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to impose a 50 miles per hour speed restriction on –
(a) the northbound carriageway of the M6 from a point 1300 metres north of the centreline of Cresswell Farm access road overbridge, at Creswell, to a point 1100 metres north of the centreline of Whitgreave Lane/March Lane overbridge; and
(b) the southbound carriageway of the M6 from a point 300 metres north of the centreline of A51 Stone Road overbridge, near Swynnerton, to a point 800 metres south of the centreline of Whitgreave Lane/March Lane overbridge.
The speed limit will be in place 24 hours a day for the duration of the works and is expected to start at 20:00 hours on Friday 7 November 2025 and continue for 3 days. The Order will come into force on 31 October 2025.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used for special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction.
