Temporary Road Closure
Event Order No.1 2025
South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers
conferred on them by Section 16A of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended and with the
approval of Scottish Ministers, make the above named
Order to be observed by all vehicles.
This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council,
Hunter Street and Montgomery Street, East Kilbride
(Temporary Road Closure) Event Order No.1 2025”
shall come into operation at 7.00am on Sunday 16
November 2025 and will remain in operation until
11.59pm Sunday 16 November 2025. The restrictions
will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs
prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General
Directions 2016.
No person shall park, drive or permit to be driven
any motor vehicle on the lengths of road specified in
Schedule 1 by reason of road safety in connection with
the Christmas Event.
Nothing in Article 2 of this Order shall prevent the
driving upon the said road by any vehicle which is being
used in connection with the Christmas Event or by
emergency service vehicles.
