Somerset Council Various Roads, Wells in the Parish of Wells (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2025

What is happening?

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions as detailed in the Schedules below. This Order will come into operation on the 30th day of October 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 3rd day of November 2025 until the 24th day of November 2025 (between 0800 hours and 1800 hours) to enable Doocey Group Limited, working on behalf of National Grid Electricity Distribution to carry out cabling works for the upcoming new development in the area. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles. Campkin Road, Wells - For its entire length
Tuddington Gardens, Wells - For its entire length
Schedule 2
Temporary 30mph Speed Limit
Burcott Lane, Wells - From a point 12 metres west from its junction with Tuddington Gardens in a westerly direction for a distance of 255 metres
Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
