Somerset Council Parish of Shepton Mallet Temporary Closure of Peter Street, Goat Lane and Leg Square
What is happening?
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Peter Street (20th October 2025 - 7th November 2025) - from the junction with Leg Sqaure, westwards for a distance of 136 metres; Goal Lane (27th October 2025 - 31st October 2025) - from the junction with Frithfield Lane, north-westwards for a distance of 73 metres and Leg Square (27th October 2025 - 31st October 2025) - from the junction with Peter Street, southwards for a distance of 67 metres; A total distance of 276 metres.
This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out phased sewer rehabilitation works.
The Order becomes effective on 16th October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 20th October 2025 and last until 7th November 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 19 days.
