THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(WINTERTON-ON-SEA, UG9361 BEACH ROAD)
(RESTRICTED PARKING ZONE) ORDER 2025
The Norfolk County Council has made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the 11th October 2025, which comes into effect on 13th October 2025. The effect of this Order will be to replace the existing double yellow lines with a restricted parking zone where waiting, loading and unloading is prohibited along the UG9361 Beach Road from the centreline of its junction with the UG9362 King Street, north-eastwards for a distance of 334 metres.
The Norfolk County Council (Winterton, Various Roads) (Prohibition of Waiting) Consolidation Order 2020 (hereinafter referred to as the “2020 Order”) is amended by deleting the following entries from the schedule of that order:
a. UG9361 Beach Road (North Side) from the midpoint of its junction with the UG9362 King Street/King Corner eastwards to its easternmost end.
b. UG9361 Beach Road (South Side) from its junction with the UG9362 King Street/King Corner eastwards to its easternmost end.
Please note that the proposed notice advertised November 2024 for this Order incorrectly referred to The Norfolk County Council (Winterton, Various Roads) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2014 (hereinafter referred to as the “2014 Order”) as being amended, instead of the correct reference, which is the 2020 Order. There is no change in the effect of this notice when compared to the proposed notice, the same lengths of road, as outlined above, are to be deleted. Additionally, this Order has been updated since the proposed notice was advertised to include typographical corrections, remove superfluous wording for clarity, update legislative references in line with the current Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and clarify existing definitions to ensure consistency with current legislation and practice.
A copy of the Order, plan and the 2020 Order being amended, as well as the 2014 Order may be viewed online at https://norfolk.citizenspace.com. Copies may also be available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich and at the offices of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF. However, in-office staffing levels may mean the pre-booked viewing time would be recommended.
Any person who desires to question the validity of the above Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from 17th October 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
