(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road: a 335 metre length of B6296 Uppertown between its junctions with Co-operative Terrace and Holy Well Lane, Wolsingham to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the southern side of the closure, from B6296 Angate Street south onto A689 Durham Road, then easterly to A68 then north to Tow Law and westerly on B6297 Wolsingham Road to the junction with B6296 Redgate Bank, leading to the northern side of the closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 7am on Monday 27/10/2025 and are anticipated to be completed in 4 days, to around 7pm per day. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
