(FOOTPATH – MULTI-USE PATH BETWEEN GLENTRESS AND PEEBLES
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025)
The Scottish Borders Council (Footpath – Multi-Use Path between Glentress and Peebles) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of six months, will come into force at 08:00 on 13 October 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 10 November 2025 - 24 hour closure. The Order is required for Eshiels Community Woodland Trust to extract trees from Eshiels Woodland.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall:
(a) walk, cycle, ride or wheel along the multi-use path between Glentress and Peebles - core path 179 between Janets Brae and Horsburgh Castle; and
(b) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph along the A72 from a point approximately 200 metres west of the underpass to approximately 20 metres east of the Riders Retreat Café.
There will be an alternative route on/alongside the A72.
