Bewcastle,Temporary Road Closure Due To Highway Works

(U1036 Near Bewcastle) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway repairs works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U1036, near Bewcastle, from its junction with the U1038, Peel O'Hill, extending in an overall northern direction for approx. 30 metres.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via: the unrestricted sections of the U1036, U1032, U1034, U1035, C1025 and the B6318. The Order will come into operation on 27th October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 weeks, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
