What is happening?

ROADS (SCOTLAND) ACT 1984

The City of Edinburgh Council proposes to make an Order under sections 1(1) and 152(2) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 redetermining the roads described in the Schedules hereto. The title of the Order is “The City of Edinburgh Council (Lindsay Road Bridge, Newhaven) (Redetermination of Means of Exercise of Public Right of Passage) Order 202_” - RSO/25/11. A copy of the proposed Order and the accompanying plans showing the roads over which the means of exercise of the public right of passage are to be redetermined, together with a statement of the reasons for making the Order and our privacy notice can be viewed free of charge at the City of Edinburgh Council, Waverley Court Reception, between 09.30 and 15.30 from 17/10/25 to 14/11/25 or online during the same period at www.edinburgh. gov.uk/trafficorders and www.tellmescotland.gov.uk. Any person may, within 28 days from 17/10/25, object to the making of the Order by notice, quoting reference RSO/25/11, in writing to Traffic Orders, Waverley Court, 4 East Market St, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG, or by e-mail to TRO.consultations@ edinburgh.gov.uk. Objections should state the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. SCHEDULE 1 ROAD OVER WHICH MEANS OF EXERCISE OF PUBLIC RIGHT OF PASSAGE IS TO BE REDETERMINED FROM CARRIAGEWAY TO FOOTWAY

North Fort St 1. All that part of the carriageway on the east side of North Fort St and the south side of Lindsay Rd (south leg), from 5.4m south of the intersection of the extended south kerbline of Lindsay Rd (south leg) and the extended east kerbline of North Fort St, northwards and then eastwards for 20.4m and which has a width that varies from 0m to 1.7m. 2. All that part of the carriageway on the west side of North Fort St and the south side of Nichollfield, from 7.4m south of the intersection of the extended south kerbline of Nichollfield and the extended west kerbline of North Fort St, northwards and then westwards for 5.9m and which has a width that varies from 0m to 2.2m. CYCLE TRACK Anchorfield 1. All that part of the carriageway of Anchorfield at its junction with Lindsay Rd (north leg) and its junction with Nichollfield, North Fort St and Lindsay Rd (south leg), from 13.9m west of the extended west kerbline of Bathfield, north-westwards for 91m and which has a width that varies from 0m to 15.2m. 1. All that part of the footway of Anchorfield at its junction with Lindsay Rd (north leg) and its junction with Nichollfield, North Fort St and Lindsay Rd (south leg), excluding those areas of existing verge marked E and F: i. from 37.6m east of the extended east kerbline of Hawthornvale, eastwards for 40.2m and which has a width that varies from 4.6m to 2.2m; then ii. from 37.6m east of the extended east kerbline of Hawthornvale, south-eastwards for 76.1m and which has a width that varies from 1.8m to 5.4m; and then iii. from 13.9m west of the extended west kerbline of Bathfield, north-westwards for 79.4m and which has a width that varies from 1.6m to 3.2m.
