Brampton, Stopping-up Order To Enable Development
What is happening?
DEPARTMENT FOR TRANSPORT
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled "The Stopping up of Highway (North West) (No.30) Order 2025" authorising the stopping up of an irregular shaped southern part width of the A69 comprising lay-by, adjacent to the Lane End Inn at Brampton, in the District of Cumberland.
This is to enable development as permitted by Cumberland Council under reference 23/0425.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/NW/S247/6040). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Brampton Library, Market Place, Brampton,
CA8 1RW.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 10th October 2025.
