Hertfordshire – Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions due to Works
What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF EASTBURY AVENUE, NORTHWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Eastbury Avenue, Northwood from its junction with A4125 Watford Road north westwards to its junction with Atria Road, a distance of approximately 156m (the “Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A4125 (Watford Road/Sandy Lane), Batchworth Lane, Davenham Avenue and Eastbury Avenue.
The Order is needed because service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A4125 EASTBURY ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of A4125 Eastbury Road, Watford from its junction with the A4008 Bushey Arches roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 27m (the “Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A411 (Lower High Street/Dalton Way/Waterfields Way/Beechen Grove/Exchange Road), A4145 Vicarage Road, A4178 (Wiggenhall Road/Deacons Hill) and A4125 Eastbury Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 24 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HARTSBOURNE ROAD, BUSHEY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hartsbourne Road, Bushey from its junction with Shaw Close north eastwards to its junction with A4140 High Road, a distance of approximately 49m (the “Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Hartsbourne Road, Prose Avenue, Beamish Drive, The Comyns, Warren Road and A4140 High Road.
The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LEAFORD CRESCENT, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Leaford Crescent, Watford from its northernmost junction with Gammons Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 85m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Gammons Lane and Leaford Crescent.
The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN ORPHANAGE ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orphanage Road, Watford from its junction with Radlett Road roundabout northwards and south westwards to its junction with the Reeds Roundabout, a distance of approximately 319m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Radlett Road, Queens Road and Orphanage Road.
The Order is needed because service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
In addition, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of the length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN WATFORD, RICKMANSWORTH, MOOR PARK, SARATT, SOUTH OXHEY AND CROXLEY GREEN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:
1. That length of Chapel Close, Watford from its junction with High Road north westwards, south westwards and clockwise for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, access to properties in this Road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. That length of Roseberry Court, Watford from a point 25m south west of its junction with Grandfield Avenue north westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 18m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, access to the properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
3. That length of Rasehill Close, Rickmansworth from its junction with A404 Chorleywood Road north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, access to the properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
4. The service road fronting 2-116 Moor Lane, Moor Park from its easternmost junction with A4145 Moor Lane south westwards, north westwards, south westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 975m.
An alternative route will be via A4145 Moor Lane.
5. That length of Fuller Gardens, Watford from its northernmost junction with Fuller Road north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 168m.
An alternative route will be via Fuller Road.
6. That length of Edinburgh Avenue, Rickmansworth from its easternmost junction with Oakfield clockwise for a distance of approximately 71m.
An alternative route will be via Oakfield.
7. That length of The Green, Sarratt from a point 9m north west of its junction with Dawes Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 52m.
An alternative route will be via The Green.
8. That length of Lavinia Avenue, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road north westwards, south westwards, clockwise, south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
9. That length of King Georges Avenue, Watford from its westernmost junction with Whippendell Road northwards, north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 522m.
An alternative route will be via Whippendell Road.
10. That length of Landford Close, Rickmansworth from its junction with Sherfield Avenue south eastwards, north eastwards and clockwise for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
11. That length of Piltdown Road, South Oxhey from its junction with Muirfield Road north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
12. That length of Springfield Close, Croxley Green from its junction with Winton Drive north westwards and clockwise for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
13. That length of Garden Close, Watford from its junction with The Gardens south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE GREEN, SARRATT) ORDER NO.7 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Green, Sarratt from its junction with Red Lion Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 138m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via The Green, Pointers Hill, Bunns Lane, The Street, The Common, Bucks Hill, Toms Hill, Chandlers Lane, Redhall Lane, Sarratt Road, Dickinsons Lane and The Green.
The Order is needed because utility connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sullivan Way, Elstree from its junction with Elstree Hill South north westwards and north eastwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Park Avenue, Bushey from its junction with Link Road south westwards to its junction with Golf Close, a distance of approximately 185m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Park Avenue, Bushey Mill Lane, B462 Aldenham Road, Bushey Hall Road, Greatam Road and Park Avenue.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN CHORLEYWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):
1. That length of Stag Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Rendlesham Way south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m.
An alternative route will be via Stag Lane, Heronsgate Road, Quickley Lane, Chorleywood Bottom, Common Gate Road, Heronsgate Road, Berry Land and Stag Lane.
2. That length of Rendlesham Way, Chorleywood from its junction with Stag Lane northwards and north westwards to its junction with Quickley Lane, a distance of approximately 164m.
An alternative route will be via Stag Lane, Heronsgate Road and Quickley Lane.
3. That length of Heronsgate Road, Chorleywood from its junction with Rendlesham Way north eastwards to its junction with Hillside Road, a distance of approximately 385m.
An alternative route will be via Quickley Lane, Heronsgate Road, Shire Lane and Hillside Road.
4. That length of Hillside Road, Chorleywood from its junction with Quickley Lane north westwards to its junction with Shire Lane, a distance of approximately 332m.
An alternative route will be via Quickley Lane, Heronsgate Road and Shire Lane.
5. that length of Shire Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Chalfont Lane north eastwards to its junction with Hillside Road, a distance of approximately 477m.
An alternative route will be via Chalfont Lane, Blacketts Wood Drive, Whitelands Avenue and Shire Lane.
6. that length of Chalfont Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Shire Lane north westwards to its junction with Blacketts Wood Drive, a distance of approximately 482m.
An alternative route will be via Shire Lane, Whitelands Avenue and Blacketts Wood Drive.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicular traffic is prohibited from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of Burtons Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Chalfont Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 222m.
The Order is needed because utility installation works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

2. the south side of Pollards, Maple Cross from its easternmost junction with Bradbery northwards, eastwards, southwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 80m.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS AND FOOTWAY IN WATFORD AND LEAVESDEN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and footway (“the Footway”) will be:
1. To prohibit all traffic from using the northbound carriageway of A41 (North Western Avenue, Watford/Gadeside, Leavesden) from its junction with the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Dowding Way Roundabout, a distance of approximately 396m, except for access.
An alternative route will be via the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout, A405 North Orbital Road, Horseshoe Lane, College Road, Langley Lane and Aerodrome Way.
2. To prohibit all traffic from using the southbound carriageway of A41 (North Western Avenue, Watford/Gadeside, Leavesden) from its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Dowding Way Roundabout south westwards to its junction with the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 380m, except for access.
An alternative route will be via Aerodrome Way, Langley Lane, College Road, Horseshoe Lane and A405 North Orbital Road.
3. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the footway situated on the west side of A41 (North Western Avenue, Watford/Gadeside, Leavesden) from a point 495m south west of its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Dowding Way roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Dowding Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 495m.
An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the north side of A41 North Western Avenue and the footway situated on the east side of A41 (North Western Avenue/Gadeside).
4. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on the northbound carriageway of A41 (North Western Avenue, Watford/Gadeside, Leavesden) from its junction with the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Dowding Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 395m, when signs are in place.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads and Footway.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads and Footway.
